On February 28, 2025, the glacier burst after heavy snowfall led to a disastrous avalanche at Badrinath Dham in Uttarakhand. More than 55 laborers engaged in road construction for the Border Roads Organization near Mana village got caught in snow. The rescue operations are in full swing, ITBP, BRO, NDRF, SDRF and army teams are struggling with harsh weather to save the lives of people. So far 16 workers have been rescued, although many have been in critical condition. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami expressed concern and urged for quick action. Heavy snowfall remains a challenge in efforts, but there is hope of safety of trapped laborers.
